FALL ORIENTATION UPDATE

Updated as of June, 1 2020:
Please see the updates below to prepare for your upcoming New Student Orientation (NSO). Register for NSO today if you haven’t already.
-
- All new students will be required to first complete Georgia State’s new Online Orientation module. You will be emailed the link to Online Orientation prior to your Virtual Orientation. On the last page of the online module, you’ll be asked to fill out a linked form with important information for your Academic Advisor.
- The second part of your orientation will be a virtual orientation and academic advising session held on your regularly scheduled NSO date. Details and timing will be forthcoming but expect to receive an invitation to the WebEx event that will be facilitated that day. [Please note that parents and family members are prohibited from participating in this virtual session with you due to the federal Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA). Any student who fails to comply will be removed from the program and be required to register for a future date.]
- In the coming weeks, one of our current GSU students who are serving as Orientation Leaders will reach out and introduce themselves. They will be a resource for you throughout the entire summer and will be eager to answer any of your questions.
- The orientation program for parents and family members will be canceled, however, several sessions with helpful information will be offered virtually instead. Due to the changes in the Fall NSO program, we are refunding all parent & guest fees and $31 of the student’s fee.
As a Georgia State alumni and the leader of the orientation team, I am thrilled that you have chosen to become a part of the Panther Family, and I can assure you you’re in the right place at the right time as we continue to center your success in all we do.
Please reach out to my team with any questions and concerns you may have during this time.
Best,
Benjamin Williams
