PERIMETER COLLEGE PARENT & FAMILY ORIENTATION
Before you arrive, your student should complete the steps to prepare for orientation, including Start @ State. At the end of Start @ State, your student will be able to register themselves for a New Student Orientation date. When they register, make sure they add you as a guest attending with them. This will ensure that we have a nametag and materials ready for you when you arrive. Students will receive a confirmation email, as well as details regarding check in location and parking, via email as New Student Orientation nears.
When you arrive, your student will meet the New Student Orientation staff and check in themselves and you. At this time, you’ll receive materials for the day. Depending on the campus, you may be separated from your student for the duration of the orientation. Your student will attend the Perimeter College Freshman New Student Orientation concurrently.
During orientation, expect to hear from many campus representatives. In the past, speakers have represented the Dean of Students Office, Academic Advising, Student Success, the Student Financial Management Center, and more! This is not an exhaustive list and may vary by date.
You’ll also get a chance to meet current student leaders working as Orientation Leaders and to ask questions about what it’s really like to be a Georgia State University student.
The Parent & Family Orientation is designed to introduce you to all that Georgia State University has to support both your student and you.
After orientation, you’ll be ready to join the Panther Family Portal, to attend Panther Family Association events, and to support your student as they begin their journey as a Georgia State University Panther!
