PERIMETER FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
First-year New Student Orientation occurs before all semesters begin on each Perimeter Campus. It is mandatory for all first-year students and you can can choose to attend orientation on any PC campus. You do not have to attend the in-person session at the same campus you will be taking classes on.
Online-only Perimeter College Orientation consists of a virtual presentation and a virtual advising session with an academic advisor. It is required for all first-year online-only students at Perimeter College. During this session, students will learn about virtual academic support resources, hear from a financial aid advisor and meet other online-only students.
Do you still need to register for orientation? You will need to complete our start@state online orientation modules to be eligible to register.

Prepare for Orientation
The Perimeter College New Student Orientation runs for one half-day – either 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Schedules are the same across Perimeter College campuses. There will be a joint presentation for families and students that includes financial aid, student success and academic support and general Georgia State facts and knowledge. Students will then be dismissed to small group rotations while families transition to learn more about the Panther Family Portal and other support services.
New Student Orientation fees cover all aspects of the orientation experience; printing, giveaways, orientation leader pay, dining costs and so much more. This is standard across universities nationwide and Georgia State has one of the lowest orientation fees in the state. The cost for Georgia State’s Perimeter College NSO is $25 per person for both students and guests.
