Freshman Incept

Freshman New Student Orientation

Freshmen can pick from three different orientation options. Each orientation option includes the same information but has a different structure. Students who attend a One Day or Freshman and Transfer One Day will have to schedule all placement exams before their orientation day. Freshmen are required to stay at orientation for the entire day, and allowances cannot be made for students to leave early.

This option is a full day of orientation activities designed for incoming freshman students and their guests only.
The overnight option for incoming freshman and their guests only will include the same information as the one day option plus additional activities which allow students to get a more in-depth look at campus life. Additionally, students may take the math and chemistry placement exams during the morning of the first day. Students stay in a residence hall along with many future classmates.
This full day of orientation activities is designed for incoming freshman or transfer students entering in the fall semester who were unable to attend orientation in June or July, transfer students entering in the summer semester or incoming freshman students entering the university in the spring and summer semesters. Whenever possible, students are strongly encouraged to attend a freshman or transfer specific orientation over the Freshmen and Transfer One Day option.
