Food and Toiletry Drive
8:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. | Various Locations
The Dean of Students office will host a food and toiletry drive to stock items that will assist students in need. Bins will be placed in designated Student Affairs offices to collect items during the first two weeks of school (August 17 – September 2, 2016). You may drop off donations at any designated location between 8:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., Monday – Friday. See designated drop off locations and items being collected. A portion of collected goods will be donated to the Panther Pantry.
Dear World
9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. | Student Center East, Senate Salon and Speaker’s Auditorium
“If you had one story to share with the world, what would you say?” That is the question we ask at Dear World, an interactive, award-winning portrait project that explores the subtle and powerful connections between students, faculty and staff. Dear World was founded as a portrait project that unites people through pictures in their distinct message-on-skin style. Come tell your story. Head to Student Center East, Senate Salon between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. to tell you story through your portrait. At 6 p.m., join other participants in Speaker’s Auditorium to hear stories highlighted from the Panther Community and see all the photos taken throughout the day.
Student Organization, Atlanta Vendor and College and Campus Life Fair
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Hurt Park and Gilmer Street
Come out to meet some of the over 400 student organizations on campus and learn how to get involved with ones that most interest you or try something new! You’ll also be able to stop by tables with some of Atlanta’s best vendors offering information and discounts to Georgia State students. Plus, there are plenty of other ways to get involved on campus so don’t miss out on the campus departments that will also be there to share information with you.orgfair
