Panther Community Plunge
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Speaker’s Auditorium
The Panther Community Plunge is a large scale service event where 200 students participate in community service projects at one of eight agencies listed below. Check-in and breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. outside of Speaker’s Auditorium in Student Center East. Please wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Many projects are outdoors so wearing sunscreen and bringing a bottle of water is encouraged.

  • Atlanta Fulton Public Library: shelving and sorting books
  • Park Pride: cleanup in Central Park
  • SafeHouse Outreach: homeless outreach services
  • Kwanza Hall’s Office: community cleanup
  • Apex Museum-African American: history tour and discussion
  • Atlanta Downtown Neighborhood Association and Castleberry Hill Neighborhood Association: mural project and community cleanup
  • Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully, Inc., (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.): healthy meal preparation with children and social media awareness campaign
  • Aniz: assembling safe sex packets
